How our managed website service works

We plan, write, design, launch, and care for a focused small-business website. You bring the business knowledge and decisions; we manage the website work.

The short version: Managed Websites is a done-with-you service for established small businesses. For $100 a month with no setup fee, we build a focused informational site and stay responsible for hosting, agreed updates, measurement, and next-step recommendations.

You do not need to arrive with a finished brief, polished copy, or a technical plan. You do need accurate knowledge of your business, access to the accounts we agree to connect, and time to review the work. We turn those inputs into a useful website and keep supporting it after launch.

The standard package covers up to five informational pages. A typical structure is Home, About, Services, Proof or FAQ, and Contact, but we choose the page plan around what your customers need to understand and do.

Before kickoff: make sure the package fits

The first step is a conversation, not a checkout screen. Send your contact details and, if you are ready, answer a few project questions. We reply within two business days to understand the business, answer questions, and confirm that the standard package is a good match.

If we agree to work together, the first $100 payment is due before kickoff. Billing then continues month to month. You pay outside providers directly for your domain, email, booking tools, ecommerce tools, or other third-party subscriptions.

The build: from business knowledge to a live website

  1. Gather the useful material. We learn about the business, customers, services, goals, and current marketing. You share accurate source material, useful photos or files, account access, and examples that help explain your preferences.
  2. Set the structure and message. We decide which pages the site needs, how visitors should move through them, and what each page must communicate. Initial copy is included and developed collaboratively from your knowledge and feedback.
  3. Shape the visual direction. We establish color, typography, suitable stock photography, and either refine an existing logo or create a simple wordmark. This is focused brand direction for the website, not a large standalone identity project.
  4. Design and build the site. We create the responsive pages and add the technical foundations: page structure, metadata, sitemap, standard analytics, tracking checks, and Google Search Console setup.
  5. Review it together. The package includes two structured review rounds before launch. You check business accuracy and make decisions; we apply the agreed changes and keep the project moving.
  6. Launch when the pieces are ready. The target is about 30 days after the required materials, access, and approvals are complete. That is a working target, not a guarantee independent of scope or client response time.

After launch: the service keeps going

Launch is the beginning of the managed relationship, not the handoff. Hosting and routine technical care stay included while the subscription is active.

Each month

Send one consolidated batch of agreed changes for up to 60 minutes of implementation work. Unused time does not roll over.

Each quarter

Meet for a 30-minute analytics and strategy call. We review what the site is doing and recommend the most useful next improvement.

Throughout the service

We keep the managed hosting in place and remain available for the agreed website support. Rankings, traffic, leads, and AI citations are never guaranteed.

Who the standard package is for

This service is designed for an established small business that needs a professional informational website and ongoing technical marketing support. It works well when the main website job is to explain the business clearly and help people call, contact, visit, or follow an external booking link.

It is not the standard package for ecommerce, memberships, custom applications, complex booking systems, larger custom builds, or unlimited revisions. If the project needs more, we can recommend another approach or quote additional work separately.

Price, ownership, and cancellation

The service is $100 per month with no setup fee. You own your domain, the materials you supply, final approved copy, and delivered brand assets. Tortoise & Hare retains the site implementation and template while the subscription is active.

Cancel before the next renewal to prevent another charge. The website remains active through the paid period and is then archived unless you accept a separately quoted buyout. Monthly payments are not prorated after a term begins.
