Restaurant website design that works for guests without becoming your second job.

Confusing sites steal time after close. We build a clear phone-first restaurant website and keep it managed, so you stay in the kitchen.

Guests decide in seconds. Your website has to keep up.

They need three answers fast: what you serve, how to visit, and what to do next. Buried in a PDF or a page only you can edit, they leave, and you are still stuck updating the site after the kitchen closes.

That means more “are you open?” texts, skipped catering asks, and evenings in the builder instead of closing the kitchen.

Here is what that looks like in practice.

Sison Tacos in downtown Waco. Walk through the three moments guests hit most, and notice how little the owner has to manage.

First impression: what is this place?

Guests need to know what you serve and why a trip is worth it. The homepage leads with the offer, the neighborhood, and one clear next step for catering, without asking anyone to dig.

The decision: can I read what you serve?

People decide with their thumbs. The menu sits on the page in plain text they can skim by category, so they are not stuck downloading a file or pinching a photo of a flyer.

The next step: where do bigger plans go?

When someone wants catering or has a larger ask, they need one obvious door. A dedicated catering path keeps that conversation separate from everyday menu browsing.

Also in the package

The walkthrough above is how guests use the site. The package also covers brand direction, search foundations, and ongoing care while we manage the site. This is the restaurant version of Managed Websites.

  • It looks like your kitchen, not a template

Color, type, a refined logo or wordmark, and copy shaped from how you talk about the food.

  • Search foundations from day one

Page structure, metadata, sitemap, analytics, and Search Console so the site can show up when someone is deciding where to eat. Rankings are never guaranteed.

  • Hosting and updates while we manage it

We host the site, apply your monthly update batch, and check in on what should improve next so you are not stuck inside a builder after close.

Rankings, traffic, covers, and catering volume are never guaranteed.

Works with the systems you already run

The marketing site stays clear for guests. When you need reservations, payments, or delivery, we link out to the tools you already use. We do not replace them.

Building ecommerce, complex booking, or POS-synced menus inside the website is outside the standard package. When that is the right next step, we quote it separately through web design and development.

Built for independent kitchens

Single-location restaurants that need a readable marketing site and someone else to keep it current, not another system to run after close.

  • Guests need a readable menu, hours, and visit path on their phone
  • You want a site that looks like your kitchen, not a generic template
  • Updates should be handled for you so you are not stuck in a CMS after close

Not a fit for POS rebuilds, delivery-platform builds, or multi-location franchise systems.

How it works

Three steps from needing a better site to one you do not have to babysit. For the longer sequence, see how the managed service works.

  1. 01

Tell us what guests need to know

Share your menu, hours, photos, and how you talk about the food. We confirm fit and map the site around the moments that matter on a phone.

  2. 02

We build and launch the site

Structure, copy, and design come together around your kitchen. You review, we refine, and the site launches ready for thumbs, maps, and late-night searches.

  3. 03

    You stay in the kitchen

Send menu or hours changes when they happen. We handle the updates, keep hosting running, and check in on what is working so you are not stuck inside a CMS after close.

Restaurant website questions

Practical answers before you decide to reach out.

Do you still use PDF menus?

We build a menu page guests can read on a phone without downloading a file. A printable PDF for the dining room can sit alongside it, but the website menu should be real text, not a scanned photo or PDF-only experience.

Can the website take online orders or table reservations?

The standard package is an informational marketing site. We can link out to the reservation, ordering, or delivery tools you already use, such as OpenTable, Toast, or DoorDash. Building ordering, POS sync, or complex booking inside the site is outside the package and quoted separately when it is the right next step.

How do menu and hours updates work?

Send one consolidated batch of agreed changes each month. We apply them for up to 60 minutes so guests see the same hours and menu you are running. Unused time does not roll over. Larger rebuilds or frequent daily specials may need a different update rhythm, which we discuss in the fit conversation.

What if I already have a website?

That is common. We replace the confusing or neglected site with a managed marketing site built around the menu, visit details, and the next step guests need. You keep your domain and the materials you supply.

How long until the site launches?

The target is about 30 days after the required content, access, and approvals are ready. Delayed materials or decisions can move that date. Sending the inquiry does not start billing.

Do you shoot the food photography?

We use suitable stock photography when needed and refine what you already have. Photos from your kitchen are usually strongest. A dedicated photo shoot is not included in the standard package.

Do you work with restaurants in Waco and Central Texas?

Yes. We are based in Central Texas and have built restaurant work here, including Sison Tacos in downtown Waco. Start with the inquiry below and we will talk through fit.

What happens if I cancel?

Cancel before the next renewal to prevent another charge. The site stays active through the paid period, then it is archived unless you accept a separately quoted buyout. Monthly payments are not prorated after a term begins.

What do I own?

You own your domain, the materials you supply, the final approved copy, and delivered brand assets. Tortoise & Hare retains the site implementation and template while the monthly service is active.
